The original GeoQuiz was created by my dad on a Mac using FileMaker Pro. We gave it an iPhone interface since that was the hottest thing around at the time.
To make the game more diverse, we added memory and id sections and let users invite their friends and challenge others through the Apple's new game center as well as OpenFeint.
To reflect its new capabilities, we renamed the game GeoWiz and ported it to the real iPhone so it would get exposure to millions through the app store.
While it still helps to raise money for my college fund, we decided to turn the game into Social Mission Software - so it can also be used as a powerful tool for booster clubs to easily raise money for education - through education.
